A Regina man is dead after he drowned in Fishing Lake in southeastern Saskatchewan.

Police and emergency crews responded to a report of a man who was unconscious and not breathing at Leslie Beach on Saturday.

RCMP say the man was on the shore of the lake when he went into the water and then wasn’t able to get out.

Two adults who were with the man at the time of the incident managed to get him out of the water. They began first aid and called 911.

The victim, a 58-year-old man from Regina, was declared dead while being transported to hospital by EMS. His name has not been released.

The incident remains under investigation. An autopsy has been ordered.
