Voters head to the polls on Wednesday in the Regina-Northeast by-election.

Six candidates are vying to replace former finance minister Kevin Doherty, who left politics in March.

In order to cast a ballot, voters must show a valid a piece of Saskatchewan photo identification or two pieces of ID with their name and address on it.

There are 44 regular polls at nine different locations across the constituency, which will remain open until 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
