A Regina city police officer is facing a drunk driving charge following an RCMP traffic stop near Lumsden.

Cst. Devon L. Sterling, 37, was charged with impaired driving and exceeding .08. He was charged on July 15 around 3:00 a.m. 

Sterling, who is an 11-year veteran with the Regina Police Service, was not on duty at the time. 

He has been assigned to administrative duties until the charges have been resolved. 

He will make his first court appearance on Aug. 22nd.
