Regina motorists will soon get some relief at the gas pumps, a local expert says.

Jason Toews, co-founder of online gas-price watchdog GasBuddy.com, predicts gas prices will fall from the current $1.28 a litre within the next few weeks.

"Labour Day is usually the last big summer driving weekend and once that happens, gas prices tend to go down because of supply and demand," Toews said.

"We should see gas prices as cheap as $1 per litre by the end of the year."

Toews says short-term supply problems led to some of the highest September gas prices ever in the city. He says gas prices could be even higher next year.
