The heavy rain and flooding that left many Saskatchewan residents reeling also disrupted the province’s free fishing weekend last month.
But anglers of all ages will get another chance to hook the big one without having to buy a licence before the summer ends.
A second free fishing weekend will be held on Aug. 23 and 24, the Saskatchewan government announced Wednesday.
The province says some people may not have had the opportunity to toss a line in the water during the free fishing weekend in July after boaters were advised to stay off flooded lakes.
The government says sport fishing attracts thousands of visitors to the province and generates $300 million each year.
