A man who was allegedly involved in a fatal car-surfing incident in Kelowna, B.C., last summer has been charged.

The Crown has approved a charge of criminal negligence causing death against 26-year-old Christopher Bezaire of Saskatchewan.

Twenty-four-year-old Jody Rud fell from the roof of a moving car on June 11 near the Bear Creek area.

Police say Bezaire was driving the vehicle, which rolled down an embankment.

Bezaire will appear in provincial court in Kelowna on March 22.
