Saskatchewan shed 2,200 jobs in April compared to the previous month, Statistics Canada said Friday.
Full-time employment fell by 7,200 in the province during the month, while the number of part-time positions grew by 5,000.
The unemployment rate in Saskatchewan edged up 0.2 percentage points to 6.2 per cent last month.
Nationally, employment was little changed in April, while the unemployment rate declined 0.2 percentage points to 6.5 per cent – the lowest rate since October 2008.
