A Saskatchewan woman has been sentenced to four years in jail for the attempted murder of two children.

The woman, who cannot be named because of a publication ban, also faces a 10-year weapons ban.

She was charged after she and the children were found in a running car inside a closed building north of Melfort in November 2010.

She pleaded guilty last fall.

She is getting a one-year credit on her sentence for time she has already spent in custody.

The Crown was asking for a punishment of five years, while the defence wanted a two- to three-year sentence.
