SaskTel is expecting a busy Mother’s Day, with customers predicted to make 1.13 million calls to mom this Sunday.

That estimate includes nearly 330,000 landline calls and about 800,000 wireless calls. SaskTel also projects that customers will send more than 10 million text messages and use about 97,000 gigabytes of data on May 14.

SaskTel has a few tips for people planning to call mom on Mother’s Day:

  • To minimize delays or busy signals, customers should avoid calling between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and between 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
  • It’s best to place direct-dialed calls instead of operator-assisted calls.
  • Callers should also check the phone number before they dial.
  • Ensure time zone differences are taken into consideration.
