Seven people have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a Regina man.
Police say the victim has been identified as 54-year-old Shawn Roderick Douglas of Regina.
A Regina police dog found Douglas’ body in a rural area northeast of Regina on Saturday afternoon.
Early Thursday morning, police were dispatched to the 200 block of Quebec Street North for a report of a non-responsive person being put into a vehicle.
When police arrived, the vehicle was gone and officers taped off the scene. Police were also dispatched to a house in the 1600 block of Toronto Street, where they found evidence linked to the incident on Quebec Street North.
An investigation that included assistance from Saskatoon police led to the arrest of seven males, two of them youths.
Aiden Anaquod, 18, Jonathon Peepeetch, 23, Joshua Wilson, 24, Michael McNab, 30, Dennis Thompson, 32, and two youths, ages 16 and 17, have all been charged with first-degree murder.
The five adults, all from Regina, and the two youths are scheduled to make their first court appearance Monday.
