After months on the market, the Sherwood twin arenas have been sold.

But what exactly that means for the Adult Safe Hockey League in Regina is still up in the air.

CanLan Ice Sports Corp,, the rink provider, says it has struck a $3.6 million deal, which is set to close in mid-September.

"While we are disappointed with having to exit the Regina marketplace due to current market conditions, we are very pleased with the terms of the sale and believe the sale provides mutual benefits for both the buyer and Canlan," said Joey St-Aubin, president and CEO of the company.

However, it's still unclear who the arenas have been sold to.

It isn't known if the 2,000 players in the local Adult Safe Hockey League will be able to continue to play there.

There have been reports the building will be converted for another use.
