Six people have been charged with kidnapping after three people were allegedly taken against their will in Estevan.

Police say the three victims were taken last Sunday. Two of them were assaulted with a tire iron, a baseball bat and a handgun.

In addition to kidnapping, the four men and two women are charged with assault with a weapon, extortion, use of a firearm in the commission of an offence and death threats, among other offences.

The accused are set to make their first court appearances in Estevan on Wednesday.

A warrant has been issued for a seventh suspect in the case, 25-year-old Mark Davis.

Davis is described as five-foot-nine, 180 pounds with short brown hair, blue eyes, poor teeth and tattoos.

Police are also investigating a second, unrelated incident last Saturday, in which a woman was held against her will at knifepoint and assaulted. No arrests have been made in that case.

Authorities say the two incidents appear to be drug related.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Davis is being asked to call Estevan police at 634-4767 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
