About 200 employees are being laid off as Staples downsizes its call centre in Regina.
Staples spokesperson Madalina Secareanu says the move is part of an ongoing evaluation and reshaping of the office supply chain's business. The layoffs will take effect in November.
“After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to downsize,” Secareanu said in an email to CTV News on Wednesday.
“We are working to assist our employees with the transition.”
About 700 people are employed at the Regina call centre, located on Winnipeg Street North, which has been operating for the past 14 years.
