A life-saving service is celebrating five years in Saskatchewan.

STARS air ambulance marked its fifth anniversary in the province with an open house Thursday afternoon at its base in Regina.

Since the service first took flight in Saskatchewan in 2012, STARS has flown more than 4,000 missions to over 500 communities across the province.

Mosaic Co. showed its support for the service by making a $2.5-million donation to STARS at Thursday’s event.
