Friends and classmates of an 18-year-old woman who died after a weekend fight in Regina gathered to mourn and to raise money for her family Thursday.

Police found Jasmine Smith suffering from stab wounds in North Central Regina on Sunday morning. She was rushed to hospital, where she died Monday.

On Thursday, students at Balfour Collegiate came together and hosted a barbecue and sold raffle tickets to raise money to help pay for Smith's funeral.

A 17-year-old-girl is now facing charges of second-degree murder in the stabbing death. She appeared in court Thursday.
