The Saskatchewan government and the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations have announced a joint task force to improve aboriginal education and employment.

Advanced Education, Employment and Immigration Minister Rob Norris says the task force will work with First Nations and Métis people to eliminate education and employment gaps.

It will focus on areas such as improving early childhood education, boosting high school and post-secondary graduation rates and integrating more aboriginal people into the workforce.

The task force is expected to submit its report to the government early next year.
