One of two teenage boys accused of killing a 16-year-old Regina girl last year has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder.

The teen entered the plea Friday afternoon in Regina's Queen's Bench court.

He and the other boy were charged following the January 2015 death of Hannah Leflar.

Leflar was found murdered inside her Regina home.

A sentencing hearing for the teen who pleaded guilty is set to begin Oct. 22. He has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric assessment prior to sentencing.

The Crown is requesting he be tried as an adult. The defence is opposing the request.

The other teen is set to stand trial in November.

Both boys were 16 at the time of the incident.
