A teenaged boy is in hospital with serious injuries after the pickup truck he was driving collided with a train in southeastern Saskatchewan.

Emergency crews were called to the crash in the town of Macoun, northeast of Estevan, on Thursday afternoon.

The train didn’t derail and nothing spilled from the rail cars.

RCMP say the railway crossing was marked with both crossing and stop signs, and that road conditions and visibility were good at the time.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
