Three men are facing charges in connection with an armed robbery and assault that led to police surrounding a home in Regina.
Shortly after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported hearing a gunshot in the area of the 400 block of Mullin Avenue.
Police responded and determined that suspects with a gun had gone into a home on the block.
As officers surrounded the home, an injured 46-year-old man arrived at Regina police headquarters to report that he was robbed and assaulted with weapons in the area where the shot was heard.
Police say the victim was in a vehicle in the area of the 200 block of East Broadway Avenue. Three men approached the victim and demanded money.
The victim was assaulted and during the attack, a gun went off, police said. The bullet did not hit the victim, but went through the windshield of the vehicle.
The victim ran away as the suspects fled with cash, cigarettes and other items belonging to the victim, who was treated in hospital and released.
Around 2:30 p.m., several people exited the house on Mullin Avenue and were taken into custody without incident.
A search of the home turned up a sawed-off .22-cal rifle, a homemade “zip gun,” a baton, two knives and items belonging to the victim.
Jesse Derrick Fink, 25, Dakota Netmaker, 21, and Tage Ottolane Nagy, 20, all from Regina, are each face several charges, including armed robbery using a prohibited firearm, and three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
All three accused made their first court appearances Wednesday morning.
