Three people have been charged after a suspect in a break and enter was shot by police on Highway 16 near Clavet.

RCMP shot the man last Friday after stopping a vehicle suspected to be involved in a break and enter. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Derek Marlon Cote, 35, of Imperial has been charged with assaulting a peace officer with a weapon and break enter and theft, in addition to several firearm offences.

Erin Tootoosis, 33, and 57-year-old Karen Hillmer, both from Imperial, each face a charge of possession of property obtained by crime.

A second man who was arrested during the incident was released from custody without charges.

Regina police are continuing to investigate the RCMP-involved shooting.
