Investigators have determined that engine failure caused a fatal crop duster plane crash in Saskatchewan.

A spokesperson for the Transportation Safety Board says the Piper PA-25 lost engine power and went down nose-first in a field west of Rose Valley on Friday.

The pilot, a 31-year-old Alberta man who had been working in Saskatchewan, was killed in the crash. His name hasn’t been released.

It was the third crop duster to crash in Saskatchewan last week.
