A man and a woman are facing multiple charges after police found a shotgun and ammunition inside a stolen vehicle on Monday morning.

Officers were called to a report of a suspicious vehicle just after 5 a.m. Police say other officers had seen a yellow Hummer leaving a business in the 800 block of Winnipeg Street, but couldn’t stop it safely. The vehicle was seen again in the 900 block of Wallace Street. A woman in the passenger seat was taken into custody without incident.

Police say three other people came out of a residence on that street. Officers found a sawed-off shotgun, loose ammunition and cheques belonging to the owner of the vehicle inside.

Two people were released from custody and police charged one man and the woman inside the vehicle.

Kailey Noreen Wolfe, 19, and Travis Delaney Buffalo, 26, are facing numerous charges, including possession of stolen property, careless use of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.

They both made their first court appearances on Monday afternoon.
