Two people are dead following a two-vehicle collision south of Canora on Saturday night.

The accident occured shortly before 10:30 p.m. when a pick-up truck and a car collided on Highway 9.

The 48-year-old female passenger of the car was pronouced dead at the scene. The 54-year-old driver of the car was taken to Canora hospital, then transported to Yorkton hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

RCMP report that the deceased were from the Buchana area.

The 37-year-old male driver of the truck sustained minor injuries. According to RCMP, he is from the Theodore area.

The highway was closed for several hours while investigators attended the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
