A 28 year old Yorkton man faces numerous charges after a wild police chase around Southern, Saskatchewan.

It all started Saturday morning in Regina in the 4500 block of Gordon Road, when Regina police approached a suspicious truck, but the truck then took off from police.

The truck was seen driving westbound out of the city on the Trans Canada Highway, and the RCMP then attempted to stop the truck, but called off the chase for safety reasons.

The truck was then spotted in a Moose Jaw gas station, before fleeing once again from police.

A 21 year old woman who had been a passenger in the truck was arrested at the gas station.

When the truck returned to Regina, police made numerous unsuccessful attempts to stop it, before a spike belt finally brought it to a halt at Albert Street and 7th Avenue.

But the suspect was not giving up, police say he ran to another vehicle with what appeared to be a firearm, and tried to remove a female driver and in the struggle, the women’s car rolled into a pair of police vehicles. Police Officers then tasered the suspect and took him into custody.

The firearm turned out to be a pellet gun.

The 28 year old man is facing numerous charges. The 21 year old female passenger has also been charged. Both will be in court tomorrow.
