Two men are facing charges following a crash that claimed the life of a Regina man.

Jordan Thomas Lee McNabb, 21, of Debden, Sask. and 19-year-old Quinton Shamus Mantee of Regina made their first court appearance Thursday morning.

McNabb faces charges of criminal negligence causing death and impaired driving causing death in the death of 68-year-old John Albert Boxall of Regina.

In addition, McNabb and Mantee are charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 in connection with the theft of a pickup truck that collided with the vehicle the victim was driving.

Relatives of McNabb wept in the courtroom as the charges were read. The case was adjourned to next week.

Regina police say the stolen truck was speeding on Arcola Avenue when it broadsided another pickup on Park Street, killing the driver.

Two other vehicles were involved in the collision. The people inside suffered minor injuries.

Two men in the stolen truck fled the scene and were arrested a short time later.

Police say they received two dangerous driving complaints prior to the crash, which happened shortly after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators have determined that the suspect vehicle was stolen from a home in the 100 block of Rae Street earlier that morning. McNabb is accused of stealing the truck.
