Two men are facing drug charges as Regina police continue to investigate a shooting in the city’s east end.

Shortly before 3:30 a.m. Monday, police were called to the 200 block of Fines Drive for a report of gunshots.

When officers arrived, they found a 24-year-old man, who was taken to hospital by EMS. The victim has since been released from hospital.

Police say their investigation appears to indicate there was a shooting outside at the scene. Officers later arrested a man at a home in the 300 block of Fines Drive.

A search of the property turned up drug-trafficking paraphernalia, drug residue, a bundle of cash, documents and cellphones.

A second man was also arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation.

Amin Ilmi, 26, of Edmonton and Terrell King Carr, 24, of Regina are both charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.

Both men made their first court appearance Tuesday morning.
