A charge of attempted murder has been laid after a stabbing near Weyburn that sent a man to hospital.
Police say a fight broke out after a man entered a rural home north of the city early Monday morning.
A 43-year-old man who was sleeping in the basement of the home suffered stab wounds and was taken to hospital in Weyburn.
Officers arrested a 35-year-old Weyburn man at the scene. Dustin Hayes McFadden faces several charges, including attempted murder and two counts of break and enter with intent.
McFadden made his first court appearance Tuesday morning.
