RCMP are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in a ditch in east-central Saskatchewan on Saturday morning.

Officers were called to a report of a body in a ditch about 13 kilometres east of Foam Lake around 9 a.m.

Mounties say the name of the 23-year woman from the Day Star First Nation will not be released at this time. Her family has been notified.

RCMP major crime and forensic identification units are assisting in the investigation, along with a collision reconstructionist.

An autopsy is scheduled for early this week.
