An ATV collision has claimed the life of a woman in east-central Saskatchewan.

The crash happened on Highway 982, south of Parr Hill Lake, on Saturday afternoon.

RCMP say the ATV the woman was driving rear-ended another ATV driven by a man. The impact threw the woman into the ditch and her ATV ended up on top of her.

The seriously injured woman was taken to Regina General Hospital, where she later died. The name of the victim, a 55-year-old resident of Norquay, hasn't been released.

Mounties say both ATV drivers were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
