Regina’s public works and infrastructure committee voted Thursday to get the ball rolling on a project that would turn methane gas from garbage at the city's landfill into electricity.
The city estimates the project would generate $21 million in revenue over two decades, while having a positive impact on the environment.
Electricity generated at the $5 million facility would be sold to SaskPower
City council will consider the proposal at a meeting scheduled for April 14.
