Saskatchewan Association of Optometrists
The Saskatchewan Association of Optometrists (SAO) is the professional organization and regulatory body for optometrists in Saskatchewan, with the mission to promote the highest possible vision care for all people of Saskatchewan.
An optometrist, or doctor of optometry, is an independent primary health care provider who specializes in the examination, diagnosis, treatment, management, and prevention of diseases and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures as well as the diagnosis of related systemic conditions.
Optometrists throughout Saskatchewan are specially trained and license to provide patients with the highest level of care and expertise. They understand the importance of vision and eye health at all stages of life, from birth to the golden years.
