Regina police charge 2 following armed robbery investigation

Regina police have charged two people following an unsuccessful robbery attempt outside a business on News Year’s Day.

According to a Regina police news release, officers were called to a business on the 2200 block of Victoria Avenue around 2 p.m. on Jan. 1 for a weapons offence involving a firearm.

Police said they were told the two suspects were outside of the business holding a gun before one suspect approach a victim and demanded items but was unsuccessful.

Officers located both suspects a short time later and arrested them without further incident.

A 34-year-old Regina man was charged with robbery and failing to comply with a probation order. A 31-year-old Edmonton woman was charged with robbery.

Both suspects made their first court appearances on Thursday morning, Regina police said.
