A Regina police officer has admitted to getting behind the wheel drunk.
Const. Devon Sterling pleaded guilty in provincial court Tuesday to exceeding .08. He was given a one-year suspension from driving and must pay a $1,000 fine with a $300 surcharge.
The 37-year-old was charged with impaired driving and exceeding .08 early in the morning July 15 after a traffic stop near Lumsden. He was not on duty at the time.
The impaired driving charge was stayed Tuesday.
The 11-year veteran with the Regina Police Service has been assigned to administrative duties since the arrest, and will remain on office duties until an administrative investigation concludes.
