Several highways are closed, including Highway 1, across southern Saskatchewan Monday morning after a weekend with freezing rain and winter storm warnings across the province.

As of 7:30 a.m. Highway 1 was closed from Wolseley, Sask. to the Manitoba border. The Trans-Canada was also closed at the same time from Swift Current to an area west of Gull Lake, Sask.

Heavy snow, slush and ice along with drifting snow and reduced visibility were some of the conditions being reported on the Highway Hotline depending on location Monday morning.

Travel was not recommended on all highways leaving Swift Current as well as Highway 2 south of Moose Jaw at 7:30 Monday morning.

All weather warnings across the province issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada were dropped on Sunday.
