A 29-year-old Regina man is facing attempted murder and assault charges after two other men were assaulted at an apartment building in the city.

Police received a call from a man who said he'd been assaulted at his apartment suite in the 500 block of Wascana Street in the early morning hours of May 3.

A moment later, another call came in about a second incident at a different suite in the same building. Police found a 55-year-old man, who told them he’d been assaulted by an unknown man, who left afterward.

Officers also found a second man, age 29, who lives in a different part of the same building. The man, who police say was unconscious and seriously injured, was taken to hospital by EMS. He remains in hospital in intensive care.

Police, including a canine team, searched the area but did not locate a suspect. The investigation led to the arrest of a 29-year-old Regina man on Wednesday.

Eric Philip R. Stevens has been charged with attempted murder in connection to the assault on the 29-year-old victim. He is also charged with assaulting the 55-year-old victim.

Stevens was scheduled to make his first court appearance Thursday afternoon.
