A tornado touched down in southeastern Saskatchewan on Wednesday evening.

A series of severe thunderstorms developed over southeastern Saskatchewan after 7:00 p.m. Environment Canada has confirmed an F-2 tornado did touch down near Alida on Wednesday night.

The storm developed just east of Carlyle and passed over the town of Alida where witnesses observed a tornado and baseball sized hail.

The tornado may have caused some structural damage to a house in the area.

Environment Canada is asking people who may have pictures of the storm to send them in.
