Firefighters had to contend with high winds as they battled a fire that started in a field and spread to a nearby farm north of Regina.
Crews were called to the blaze near Highway 6 about 12 kilometres north of the city shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
Local farmers provided water and equipment to help crews get the fire under control. The flames damaged hay bales and a Quonset on the farm.
Deputy Fire Chief Gerard Kay says there was no controlled burn happening in the area at the time.
A witness said farm equipment may have sparked the blaze, but officials haven’t confirmed that.
In May, a fire destroyed a farm building and several hay bales on the same property.
