RCMP are investigating two possible drownings in southern Saskatchewan.
Just after noon on Wednesday, Mounties received a report of a boat that was found adrift on Last Mountain Lake between Fox’s Point and Wee Too Beach.
The boat belongs to a missing 78-year-old male resident of Wee Too Beach, RCMP said. The man’s truck and trailer was found at the boat launch, and several of his belongings were located at the end of the dock.
An initial search turned up no sign of the missing man, and an RCMP underwater recovery team is continuing to scour the area.
RCMP are also searching for a 43-year-old man who disappeared under the water while trying to swim across the river near the Alameda Dam near Oxbow on Wednesday afternoon.
The names of the two missing men haven’t been released.
