A Regina cab driver remains in hospital in critical condition after being stabbed in the neck on Thursday night.

According to police, 31-year-old Iqbal Singh Sharma was violently attacked by patrons in his cab. He was stabbed three times, including once in the neck. The president of the cab company he works for said Singh Sharma lost a significant amount of blood and is in a coma.

A GoFundMe Page has already raised more than $6,000.00 for the victim and his family. There is also a fundraising box set up at the Co-Op Taxi office at 1654 Angus Street.

Singh Sharma moved to Canada this summer with his wife and three-year-old son.

Two other men were taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries.

A 20-year-old man was taken into custody. Leroy Aaron Redwood of Calgary made his first court appearance on three charges of attempted murder Monday morning.
