Regina police say a 21-year-old man has been charged with second degree murder in connection to a homicide that took place on Dec. 3.

Officers were called to the 1400 block of Argyle Street around 5:30 a.m. where they found an injured female with what appeared to be gunshot wounds, a Regina police news release said.

The victim was taken to hospital and died from her injuries on Dec. 6, police said.

As a result, 21-year-old Jerek Dorian Tyler Favel was arrested on Sunday (Jan. 5) and charged with second degree murder.

Favel made his first court appearance on Tuesday morning, Regina police said.

The incident was Regina’s fifth homicide of 2024.

Police did not release the victim’s name or age.
