Regina saw a record number home sales in 2024, report says
Above average home sales throughout 2024 translated into a record year for Regina that saw nearly 4,000 sales made.
According to a report from the Saskatchewan Realtors Association (SRA), Regina recorded 3,917 sales in 2024 which is an all time annual high.
In December, the city reported 198 sales, a five per cent year-over-year increase and 28 per cent above long-term trends, the report said.
The report also said that record housing demand is still impacting availability in the city.
Regina’s inventory levels decreased by 32 per cent year-over-year which is currently more than 40 per cent below historical averages, the report indicated.
The benchmark price for a home in the Queen City in December was $313,400, more than five per cent higher than in December of 2023, but down slightly from November 2024.
Provincially, the report says that Saskatchewan as a whole saw it’s second-best year on record sales wise.
There were 16,119 sales across the province in 2024, a near nine per cent increase from 2023, the report said.
However, strong demand was met with declining new listings throughout the year which also contributed to record low inventory at various points of 2024 for Saskatchewan as a whole.
The report says new listings decreased by 16 per cent in December 2024 compared with December 2023 and were down almost 30 per cent from 10-year averages.
