RCMP in east-central Saskatchewan say it appears that three young people were "huffing" propane fumes inside a car when the gas exploded, injuring them.

Emergency crews were called to the explosion on Third Avenue North in Kamsack on Monday morning.

Investigators believe the three youths were inhaling propane fumes in the car when one of them lit a cigarette, causing the gas to explode.

The three were taken to a local hospital and one was later transported to Regina with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
