Union officials are praising a report from Saskatchewan's information and privacy commissioner calling for full public disclosure of a contract for privatized hospital laundry services.

CUPE says it has been trying to get a public copy of the contract with K-Bro Linen since it was signed in December 2013.

The union says after unsuccessful attempts to get a copy of the 10-year contract from Saskatchewan's Ministry of Health it filed access to information requests to five health regions.

CUPE says it was given a heavily censored copy of the contract by a health service provider only after a formal review had begun.
