It was a slow commute for many motorists after snow and freezing rain left roads slick in and around Regina.

Regina police say they had responded to 40 collisions as of 5 p.m. Monday. One involved minor injuries.

RCMP were also busy after numerous vehicles slid into the ditch on highways in the area.

Snowfall warnings remained in effect for several communities in central Saskatchewan after some parts received as much as 15 centimetres of snow.

Travel was not recommended on several highways around Saskatoon, Prince Albert and North Battleford.
