Regina based lawyer Tony Merchant has launched a class action lawsuit against Ticketmaster and its parent corporation, Live Nation, alleging the entertainment giant mislead consumers on ticket prices.
The suit comes on the heels of a recent media report showing that Ticketmaster has been profiting off of ticket resales, despite speaking out against the practice.
Merchant says despite the timing, he has actually been working on the suit for nearly six months. He believes total damages to Canadians could be upwards of $100 M.
The lawsuit is open to all Canadians who purchased tickets from Ticketmaster at inflated prices.
