RCMP are trying to track down a man wanted on several charges in Saskatchewan.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 41-year-old Wayne Babiuk, who faces charges in connection with a break and enter in Swan Plain, north of Yorkton, earlier this week.
During the incident, a home and vehicle were damaged by a baseball bat, and threats were made against the homeowners and police, RCMP said. Two guns were also reportedly stolen from the home.
The homeowners were not hurt, and Mounties say the victims and Babiuk are known to each other.
Babiuk is described as six feet tall and 200 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. He may be driving a red 1998 Ford F-150 Supercab four-wheel drive pickup truck.
Police say Babiuk is known to live a transient lifestyle, and it would not be uncommon for him to take shelter in sheds and abandoned buildings. They are warning the public not to approach Babiuk, as he is possibly armed and considered dangerous.
Anyone with information that could help in locating Babiuk is asked to contact Kamsack RCMP at 306-542-5568 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
