Two people are dead and eight others injured after two separate highway crashes in Saskatchewan over the weekend.
The first collision happened Saturday night at the intersection of Highway 219 and Highway 15, about 18 kilometres east of Outlook.
RCMP say a 27-year-old Saskatoon woman died at the scene. Her name hasn’t been released.
A two-year-old child in the same vehicle was airlifted to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon with critical injuries. The male driver was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Three of the five people in the other vehicle were also taken to hospital with varying injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Mounties are also investigating a fatal collision between a van and a pickup truck on the Trans-Canada Highway near Wolseley early Sunday morning.
RCMP have confirmed that a 57-year-old man in the van was killed in the crash, which happened at the west access to the community. His name hasn’t been released.
A passenger in the vehicle was airlifted to hospital in Regina, and the two people in the pickup were also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
