A plan to roll back the salaries of Saskatchewan MLAs has hit a snag.

The NDP Opposition boycotted a committee meeting Wednesday morning, where the 3.5 per cent cut was to have been approved.

The NDP’s attendance was required for the move to go ahead.

The government is also looking to reduce compensation costs by 3.5 per cent across the public sector.

NDP MLAs say they don't want to create an excuse for the government to cut the pay of workers.
