New chief judge appointed to provincial court bench in Sask.

There is a new chief judge on the provincial court bench in Saskatchewan.

The province has appointed James Plemel, who was first appointed a provincial court judge in Wynyard in 2009 after several years as a Crown prosecutor.

He will replace Chief Judge Carol Snell, who has held the post since 2008.

Plemel begins his new duties on Jan. 1 next year.
