An officer deployed a Taser at a dog in an arrest on Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to the 1700 block of Montreal Street around 2:30 p.m. after reports of a weapons offence. According to police, they were arresting a man with a knife when a large dog appeared. Police say the dog was not related to the suspect’s arrest and was acting aggressively.

Police say the officer deployed their Taser at the dog and it ran away. It’s not clear if the Taser probes made contact with the dog, since it hasn’t been located by police. Animal control was advised of the incident.
